The new season begins where the previous one ended with the stubborn hedgehog dealing with the consequences of his actions. Tensions rise between Shadow and Sonic's duo as the former face off against the latter in an effort to destroy Green Hill. He, Dr. Eggman, like all good stories. There was a twist in this clash. during the encounter A mysterious crystal known as the Paradox Prism is destroyed, and universes shatter and realms begin to clash. Sonic is soon barred through this multiverse.
